A city look in a countrified location

When deciding to build their first country home, the brief was to create a contemporary, fashion-focused interior that would also work for the couple’s young family. Although the location is a country one and the exterior finishes chosen by the designer had to reflect that location, the owners still wanted a connection to an urban design aesthetic.

The Bespoke experience

Spatial interior designer Jane McAulay-Frame and her talented team at Bespoke Interior Design are renowned for creating a personalised design response that interprets the unique needs of each client.

The result for the Wicklam Lane house in Auckland’s Greenhithe is a modern cutting-edge interior balanced with a soft and simple look that enables the interior and exterior to work symbiotically together. Soft greens, light wood detailing and marble highlights bring nature indoors among the more contemporary pieces.

Unique furniture customised to meet client needs

PLN Group collaborated with the team at Bespoke to create and manufacture custom furniture pieces which included a custom designed lounge setting, one arm sofa, leather zipped ottomans and luxurious upholstered headboard panels.

The neutral toned furniture is modern, simple and soft as befitting a house in the country, with wild pops of colour and eclectic art and collectables added to give a more contemporary urban feel.

The end result is a house with an urban soul that is perfectly at home in its country surroundings.
